Stormy seas

It's been a difficult week. I made a decision to take a stand. A stand to protect our two little boys and hopefully in the process, we get to stand up for childhood.

It isn't easy swimming against the tide. It would be easier not to fight it. Swim with it and it's plain sailing, avoiding all conflict and unpleasantness.

But it wouldn't be worth it. And it isn't living our best life or giving them their best childhood.

The storm is slowly passing, and Graeme and I are better sailors for it.

And strangely I'm grateful. At the very least because these two have the two of us.

Joining other gratefuls over here.

  2. Sounds awfully familiar. It's almost school holidays and I know that Matt and I have some serious discussions to have about sending our kids off to another year of hardship. Thinking of you guys xo It's never easy going against the crowd, but so worth it. Like my Matt says, this is our only life, live it the way you want to.

  10. I think that the best kind of parenting requires many stands to be delivered. I'm glad you fought the good fight for your kids. No matter what else happens in this life, if we know that they were sure that Mum and Dad were always on their side, then we'll have done a very good job indeed. x
