My very last job in full-time employment was Food Editor for Food and Travel magazine in London. That was back in 2004. I've worked for myself ever since.
I was a regular contributor for BBC Good Food where I wrote the magazine's monthly Cook's Notes pages and regularly covered restaurant reviews, producer and grower profiles and more recipe-led features. I also organised and wrote their Kitchen Design, where I featured a host of names, from Diana Henry and Sheila Dillon to James Martin and Rachel Allen, and their Working in Food feature – inspiring tales of people trying to make it in food.
My writing appeared regularly in Homes & Gardens and I also wrote for Olive magazine, the BBC Food website, Waitrose Food Illustrated, With Kids and Time Out. I was also a long-standing editor and project manager for food and drink publishers such as Kyle Cathie.
Here in Australia, (in between moving a dozen times and being a mum to my two boys!), I've written for several publications including the Sydney Morning Herald, Breeze magazine and Broadsheet Sydney.
